If I had been told that this reservation couldn't be refunded (or even that there was a chance of this happening), I wouldn't have booked a different hotel. I called in and explained the situation multiple times, and was told that they would get back to me after speaking to the hotel the following day. They sent back a canned response with no information. I responded asking for clarification because I was already told that it would be refunded, and as such, had booked a different hotel.
